What I have learned
As a forty-five year old student, I have chosen my personal resumé as an artifact to speak to this standard. It shows a lifetime of work and volunteer experiences that are dedicated to broadening my knowledge base. It also shows my varied life experiences that helped to shape me as a learner and an educator. I have always stated that if I was independently wealthy I would go to school full time. I am committed to being a life long learner and I always am challenging myself to learn more. Perhaps Fred Johnson said it best when he stated, "Go as far as you can see, and when you get there you can see more".

What I have learned
During this last semester, our Socials Studies Methods class spoke to the importance of Aboriginal content in education. Having a band practicum, I found it somewhat difficult to create an assignment in Socials Studies where I could include Aboriginal content. I decided to have my son (grade 7) research and understand the structures, stories, origins, and conceptions of Aboriginal music. He was excited to research this subject and his learning was extremely
deep and moving. What he really learned was the importance of ‘listening’.
